Operator is an interactive digital installation designed to highlight increased social information flows.
The object initiates the user experience by means of an ultrasonic sensor and an automated ringing system. On answering the phone, the user is prompted to choose between various RSS feeds using the rotary dial. These feeds are spoken by the tts library within Processing, the audio for which is sent directly through to the earpiece.
Operator also allows for the recording and play-back of individual user messages.
